Domain Names
All PJ systems work with the primary PJ domain www.printjob.com. You can replace this domain with your own, so that all your customers see only your domain. This is reflected in the URL, and also on links sent in system emails.
To implement a domain name go to Admin Settings > Domains and follow the instructions on the Add Domain button.
What the instructions mean is ‘Go to Godaddy.com (or your domain manager) and point the domain to our IP address.’ After thats done, come back to the PJ system and add the domain.
Editing a domain on Godaddy
- Go to your Domain
- Press “Manage DNS”
- At the bottom of the RECORDS box click ADD
- Select Type ‘A’
- Host = @ (@ means the root domain like zapprint.com)
- Points to = IP ADDRESS named in the PJ System (screenshot above)
If the domain is for ALL accounts (ie: all client facing URLs) choose ‘All companies’. If its for a particular Account choose ‘Company’.
Sub Domains
If your domain name is Zapprint.com and you already host your website there, you can place the PJ system into a subdomain like system.zapprint.com. Additionally you can add multiple additional domains like clientA.zapprint.com and clientB.zapprint.com.
To create a sub domain in Godaddy
- Go to your Domain
- Press “Manage DNS”
- At the bottom of the RECORDS box click ADD
- Select Type ‘CNAME’
- for the subdomain ‘honda.zapprint.com.
- Host = honda
- Points to = URL of your system
Once thats done, go into the domains page in the PJ system and add the domain honda.zapprint.com and point it to the correct Company
SSL – the PJ System implements these automatically. All system pages are encrypted via SSL.
So where do my clients login?
All Clients can login either on
a) The general storefront URL (can be your domain eg www.zapprint.com)
b) A client specific URL (for B2B), which can be honda.zapprint.com
To find the specific login url for any client just go to the Users page for that company and see the link at the bottom of the page.
Once you have changed the domain name in your system, you may want to change the Outgoing Email Sender address too. Change the setting on the System Settings > Emails.
